MAKING HISTORY

Some, like the children of kings, have history thrust upon them.  Others, like composers and artists, create history.  Still others, like my characters, make history without ever entering the history books.

They are not-quite-ordinary people living not-quite-ordinary lives in not-quite-ordinary times.

"We have invaded space."  (General Walter Dornberger, Peenemünde, Germany, 3 October 1942)

Main Stage

"L'audace, encore l'audace, toujours l'audace."  Did Danton say it first, or Voltaire, or Frederick the Great?

"Bold, again bold, always bold," for Eva Sieglinde Rimbach, it is her life's motto.

The Hydrazine Lounge

"The Party, it is always right, and Comrades so it will always be." (Das Lied der Partei, 1949)

To the Sun, to Freedom

"Here am I.  Send me."  (Lisbetta Deslegador, Baroness of Mayrènge, during the siege of Alberensa, 1231).

Alberensa

Such eloquent boldness.  The French had infected even the stolid townsfolk of Dresden.

Dresden Nights

“You ain nevuh gin up, Mizz Allie!  Ain start now!”  (Binta, 20 October 1779)
